Five Inches of Room Under a Small Sports Car: the Race Ramps RR-30
Steel ramps are made for trucks. Drive a Miata at one and the air dam hits the ramp before the tire does, and even if you clear it you are left lying on the floor reaching into a five inch gap that a jack would have opened properly.
The RR-30 is built the other way round. Thirty inches long to spread the climb, 5″ of lift at the top, and a 16 degree approach that suits the short front overhang of a small sports car. Race Ramps sizes them for stock Miatas, Subarus, Evos, BMWs and older MGs.
They are 100% solid high density foam with an anti slip coating, so a pair weighs 8 lbs and still carries 6,000 lbs of car. A raised lip at the top tells you through the steering wheel that you have gone far enough, and carry straps are molded in so you are not wrestling them into position.

Will my car clear the approach?
Sixteen degrees suits a car with a short front overhang and reasonable ride height, which covers most stock small sports cars. If your car is lowered, or it has a long nose or a splitter, look at the 40″ Sport Ramps or call us before ordering.
Is 5 inches of lift enough to work under?
It is enough for an oil change, an exhaust inspection, or getting a drain pan and your arms underneath. It is not a substitute for a lift or jack stands if you need to sit up under the car. For more room, the RR-40 gives 7 inches.
Can foam really hold my car?
Rated at 1,500 lbs per ramp, 6,000 lbs across the pair. This is solid high density foam, not packing foam, and the load spreads through the block rather than concentrating on a frame the way it does with a steel ramp.
Will they slide on my garage floor?
The anti slip coating grips sealed concrete and epoxy, which is the single most common complaint about steel ramps. Drive on slowly and steadily and they stay put.
What tire width do they take?
Up to 8 inches of section width, measured across the tire rather than the wheel. That covers most stock small sports car rubber. Wider setups want a wider ramp, so give us a call and we will match it.
